Massage therapy is manual manipulation of soft body tissues (muscle, connective tissue, tendons and ligaments) to enhance a person's health and well-being. There are dozens of types of massage therapy methods (also called modalities).
Cupping therapy is an ancient form of alternative medicine in which a therapistputs special cups on your skin for a few minutes to create suction. People get it for many purposes, including to help with pain, inflammation, blood flow, relaxation and well-being, and as a type of deep-tissue massage.
Ultra Red Therapy
A recent study showed that the use of red and infrared LED light therapy is very promising in treating psoriasis. In the study, patients used a combination of near infrared light (830nm) and red light (633 nm). Over a period of 4 to 5 weeks, with two 20-minute sessions every 48 hours, clearance rates during the follow up period were 60 to 100 percent. All of the participants were happy with the therapy.
An additional study concludes: “Inflammatory diseases such as psoriasis and acne can also be managed. The noninvasive nature and almost complete absence of side effects encourage further testing in dermatology.”
Although the research is relatively new regarding the use of red and infrared light therapies for psoriasis, each additional study suggests that the treatments are effective and offer hope of a drug-free option for sufferers of this chronic disease.
Western traditional medicine likes to deal with what we can measure in a lab and prove to the FDA. Once NASA came down with undeniable wound healing results from red light therapy, conventional medicine started paying attention. Over 10 years later, red light therapy has now been thoroughly researched and FDA approved for anti-aging and pain relief, with wound care applications soon to follow.
Oriental Herb Therapy
Oriental herb Therapy is one of the major components of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), or Oriental medicine (OM). In TCM, herbs are often used in conjunction with such other techniques as acupuncture or massage.
Low Frequency Therapy
Low frequency is defined as special current running or stopping in a steady rhythm. Thus, if applying appropriate intensity and oscillation rate for the body, highly rhythmical and soft stimulations are given. The gentle massage of low frequency resembles finger pressure or hand press, patting or massage, stimulating moderately the human muscles to relieve muscular pains.
The principle of low-frequency therapy
Low-frequency therapy is a sort of physiotherapy intended to help to relieve acute or chronic pains caused by stiffness or fatigue in the manner of applying low frequency to the human body, massaging directly the muscles with the stimulations, inducing nervous sedation and promoting the circulation of blood. In addition, this therapy causes muscular contraction, improving the resistance to physical weakness, obesity and diseases. Recently, it has been also used in obesity control machines on the basis of the principle of vibrating adipose cells. ~
